Kent Ates

Kent Ates studied human medicine at the University of Basel and completed his degree in 2025 with the Swiss federal medical licensing examination. Since spring 2025, he has been working as a research assistant in the Spine Biomechanics Group at Balgrist University Hospital. As part of his doctoral thesis, he investigates the segmental biomechanics of the lumbar spine and how different test configurations affect motion parameters. His particular interest lies at the interface between operative spinal surgery and fundamental biomechanical research.
