Dr. Andrea Nüesch

Dr. Andrea Nüesch began studying Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich in 2015. While working with the Spine Group at the AO Research Institute in Davos, she developed a strong interest in spinal research, which she further explored in her master’s thesis. In 2021, she joined the Horizon 2020-funded Disc4All consortium as an early-stage researcher. At the University of Sheffield (UK), she conducted experimental research on the role of the microbiome in the intervertebral disc. Since May 2025, Andrea Nüesch has been working in Prof. Stefan Dudli’s lab, where she continues to investigate the microbiome composition of the intervertebral disc. Since May 2026, she has been part of Jonas Widmer’s Spine Biomechanics Group, where she contributes her expertise at the intersection of spinal biology and biomechanics.
